Students at NIA actively organise events and coordinate various activities throughout the year. Apart from academics and the fun that life at NIA brings, the various student committees at NIA give vast exposure and learning opportunities to our students.
The Placements committee coordinates the Summer Internship Programme and the Campus Recruitment Programme. It approaches prospective employers, arranges Pre- Placement Talks and Personal Interviews on campus. It arranges and provides for the facilities required by visiting organizations.
INSURANCE SUMMIT COMMITTEE
Insurance Summit - the flagship event of NIA PGDM, provides a forum for industry leaders, practicing managers, consultants, academicians, business analysts, students & opinion makers to discuss the emerging insurance market challenges & brainstorm on critical issues.
The members of the Insurance Summit Committee have been successfully organizing the summit for the last five years and have managed every aspect the event like coming up with the event theme, formulating topics for discussion, inviting speakers, arranging for sponsorships, managing materials and costs, arranging for venue and conducting the event.
HR SUMMIT COMMITTEE
The HR Summit titled ‘TATVA’ is an annual event organized by the PGDM students of National Insurance Academy. TATVA was conceptualized in the year 2006.
The seminar provides a forum for exchange of thoughts & ideas on approaching the current trends that characterize the modern day Human Resource Management. The speakers at the summit include a rich combination of CEO’s and HR heading large organizations in the service sector that includes Banking, Insurance, Finance, IT and ITES. As mentioned above the members of the HR Summit Committee are involved in every aspect of the summit and manage the event through and through.
"Pravartak - The Journal of Insurance & Risk Management" is a referred Bi-annually publication of NIA with an objective to provide a platform to practicing managers, researchers, students and professionals in the field of Insurance & Management to share their knowledge, thoughts and experiences on a variety of issues concerning the Insurance Industry. Pravartak is a student driven journal. The Pravartak Committee works to amass research articles and white papers on various themes and conducts the entire printing and circulation activity.
The students of NIA welcome spring into their picturesque campus by organising their management fest Manthan – which brings together students from B-schools across India to compete in events like Best manager, Business Plan, Business Quiz among many others. The event aims at churning out the creative spirit of being.
NIA is also known for its festivities and celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid, Janmashthmi, Onam, and Holi among others – signifying ‘Unity in Diversity’ – which not only gives students a homely environment but also brings students from different cultural backgrounds together to celebrate all the festivals. The Cultural Committee works around the year to provide the students a sense of communion through all sorts of festivities.
NIA‘s multipurpose sporting complex has facilities for tennis, badminton, swimming, basketball, billiards and a state-of-the-art gymnasium. Every year the Sports Committee organizes a Sports Week wherein tournaments are held in badminton, throw ball, football, volleyball, swimming, cricket, pool, table tennis, chess, carom, etc.
STUDENTS WELFARE COMMITTEE
The Student Welfare Committee encourages a congenial learning environment for students and ensures a great life at NIA. It is focussed towards addressing various student issues and facilitating student- administration interactions. It also helps coordinate various other student driven activities and helps out in the organization of various on campus events.
‘Pragyaan’, meaning ‘supreme intelligence’ in Sanskrit, is the club for sharing knowledge and creativity. Pragyaan organises intra and inter College quizzes, debates, case studies, paper presentations, and panel and group discussions on various topics to inculcate a knowledge-oriented approach towards our academic imperatives.
The success story of any institution is the present actions of its ex-students. The Alumni Committee plays the role of a connector between the ex-students and their former ALMA MATER. The committee also shares information between the ex-students and maintains the details which may enable smooth communication between all the ex-students and the institution.
